Remkus’ Ramblings – week 23, 2021

Round two! As I tweeted last week, I am humbled and very happy with the extremely positive feedback I’ve received so far on the first newsletter. That, and seeing more than 30 sign up afterwards 😳😄. Thank you all for reaching out and subscribing 😊. Let’s dive in this week’s ramblings and see what we’ve… Continue reading »

Remkus’ Ramblings – week 22, 2021

Well, here it is. My first official newsletter. Writing it up presented the question of “FFS, how should I title this?!”, but I ended up going for the name of the newsletter, the week and the year. Ambitious, I know, but that’s how I roll. Anyway, here we go. WordPress News 🗞 Seventeen and a… Continue reading »

Hello, long time no speak!

Hi there! Yeah, well, long time no speak from my end 😬 😅. If you’re receiving this email you have at some point in your life subscribed to one of my newsletters. And, let’s get this out of the way right away, you may no longer wish to be so. And that’s okay, so feel… Continue reading »

Don’t go for that default (American) approach… Continue reading »

Chrome Flags Omnibox settings

Chrome 86 adds yet another obfuscation. Slugs are no longer visible and only visible upon hover. Chrome has been trying for ages now to hide the full URL in its address bar – Ominbox in Chrome’s own terminology – and I find it annoying as hell. There are so many reasons for me to always… Continue reading »

Working from home, for most, includes a fair amount of video conferencing. But, what if the camera on your Mac produces No Connected Camera errors and effectively won’t work or has suddenly stopped working with apps like Facetime, Skype, Zoom or Google Meet? Well, you can either go for a full reboot of your computer,… Continue reading »

Koko Analytics for simple Stats

Years ago, when you needed a simple way of displaying stats in your WordPress Dashboard, the only set and forget option was WordPress Stats which later got incorporated into Jetpack. And for years, that’s exactly what I installed in WordPress sites. But besides the fact of Jetpack slowing your site down, its Stats module is… Continue reading »
